An electronic signature (or eSignature) is a digital way to indicate your approval on a document. It carries the same legal weight as a handwritten signature in most jurisdictions. Learn how to place your eSignature on a document using Loio.

1. Upload a document to sign

To begin, upload a document to your workspace:

2. Create your signature

  • Select the document you’ve uploaded to open in Loio’s editor.

  • Click Signature in the left-hand toolbar.

  • Drop the signature field onto the document. If you have additional signers, make sure you are selected as an assignee — Your name (You).

  • Click Add signature in the floating menu to sign.

Choose one of three ways to create your signature:

  • Draw: Use your mouse or touchpad to draw your signature.

  • Image: Upload a photo of your handwritten signature.

  • Type: Type your name and customize the font and color.

Loio saves your signature for future use automatically unless you uncheck the Save signature box.

When ready, click Done to save and place your signature on a document.

3. Tweak and manage the signature

When your signature is on the document, you can manage it with ease:

  • Move: Drag the signature to any location on the page.

  • Resize: Pull the corner anchor points to change the size.

  • Reassign: Select a different signer using the Assignee dropdown to clear your signature and assign the field to a different recipient.

  • Change signature: Use the floating menu to replace your current signature.

  • Clear: Remove your signature from the field.

  • Duplicate: Make a copy of your signature to place it anywhere else on the document.

  • Delete: Remove the signature along with the field.

You can use Loio’s editing tools to add dates, names, addresses, and other details before signing.

4. Export the signed document

Once your document is signed, click the Export button in the top-right corner.

Loio will ask you to finalize the document first. By doing so, you will record your signature in the audit trail, making it legally binding.

Next, choose any suitable export option:

  • Download: Save the signed file to your device.

  • Email: Receive it to your inbox (Loio automatically emails a completed copy upon signing).

  • Print: Create a hard copy instantly.

💡Pro tip: Before signing, get an instant AI summary of the document’s purpose, clauses, financial terms, and potential risks.

What if my document requires additional signatures?

After you’ve added your signature, you can quickly prepare and send a document to others:

1. Click +Add signer.

2. Select the signer you need from the Recipients list, then place a signature field.

3. Click Finalize & Send to invite other parties to sign.

4. Enter the recipient’s name and email address, set a signing order (if applicable), and click Send.

You can also pre-set recipients when assigning fields for them to complete. Select the pen icon to edit the signer’s role, add the recipient’s name and email address, then click Save.
